No less than three persons have been feared killed and 12 abducted when bandits invaded the Kwankwashe community in Suleja local government area of Niger state, according to The Nation.

The attack was said to have occurred on Wednesday night.

Residents of the community, which is before Mandala, reported they heard gunshots in the middle of the night, making everyone scamper for safety.

The Nation gathered two persons and a six-year-old child were killed during the attack.

Some children were reported to be among the unspecified abductees.

The bandits were said to have broken into different houses in the community and whisk away residents who couldn’t run fast during the raid.

Sources in the community told The Nation that the abductors were yet to contact families of the abductees but the matter has been reported to security agencies.

The Nation further gathered it was not the first time bandits were attacking communities in Suleja local government area.

Residents lamented majority of the attacks were not reported as focus was always on Shiroro, Munya and Rafi local government areas.

Calls to Niger Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun, were unanswered as at the time of filing this report.
