Fulanis have been accused of being responsible for the call for Nigeria's breakup in different parts of the country.

Fulani people

The grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Cross River State, Fidelis Obi Onyebueke has accused Fulanis of instigating the breakup of Nigeria with their provocative utterances.

He disclosed this to DAILY POST on Tuesday during a chat.

He said the claims of Fulani people that they own all lands in Nigeria was inciting.

“How can one say that the Fulani own the lands in Nigeria, how can a sensible people say so and herdsmen will do something nobody will arrest them.

“And now they turn round to ask for amnesty and to be compensated it is very unfortunate. They should stop provocative statements” he advised.

Onyebueke, a one-time President General of the Igbo Community in Calabar said what happened in Imo State is very disgusting.

“I am disturbed and what has happened is abnormal. This is an issue of terrorism and is unbecoming. The death of Eastern Security Network man in the hands of the Military men is highly condemnable in the sense that it will escalate the situation in Igbo land but I urge the Governor to diffuse.

“These boys are too obedient to Nnamdi Kanu, they serve and obey him to the core, my fear is that there will be retaliatory act from their side.

“Who is going to be at the receiving end, is it the military or the indigenes, we don’t know, it is very frightening, I am not comfortable at all.

“Igbo leaders should do something, Not only that, the Governors are not in the good books of these boys, Igbo leaders should come together and take action and persuade these boys to drop the continuation of the attack

“I am afraid of what is happening, the boys are too comfortable with Nnamdi Kanu, they have respect for him, they adore him

“Why should these boys adore him even when he is not in Nigeria and he is being adored by these boys? There must be a reason.

“But these boys felt they are marginalized, most of them in their minds are not too serious about Biafra but they felt that the Igbos are marginalized and secondly the comment made by Fulani people the provocative statement they made also incite these boys to react.

“How can you make one-sided appointments and think we are one Nigeria, appointments are not equitably distributed.

“I was a mature youth when we had a civil war, I was able to distinguish between evil and good and what gave rise to civil war was not as what we saw today, it is worse now we should be careful, we have to advise ourselves if we want to be one Nigeria” he pleaded.

Onyebueke called on the Governor of Imo State to dialogue with the Biafran group.
