An Indian couple have been shocked with the delivery of a conjoined set of twins with medical personnel being disturbed about their chances of survival.
The conjoined twin babies
A mother in India was stunned to discover she had given birth to conjoined twins, despite having a 'very smooth' pregnancy according to Dailymail.
The male twins, who are fused together at the stomach and share most of their vital organs, were born via caesarean section at a state hospital in Badaun, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

The shocked parents, Guddo Devi, 25, and her husband Dalvir Singh, 27, didn't have an ultrasound check during the pregnancy and it seemed that nothing was wrong.
'I never took her for regular medical check-up or an ultrasound as her pregnancy was very smooth,' said the father, Mr Singh.
She never complained of any problem throughout her pregnancy.
'We were excited for the arrival of our first child but when I saw the babies, I could not believe my eyes.'
He added: 'I had only heard of such births but never imagined I would have conjoined twins. My family is heartbroken, but we have faith in God.
'Once the babies are discharged, I will take them to a bigger hospital and consult specialists for their separation.'
Although the babies have four arms between them, they share most of their vital organs and two legs. They appear to be doing fine at the moment, but doctors have concerns for their future.
'This was the first such case in our hospital and we were all shocked to witness the birth of the children,' said Dr Ruchi Gupta, a gynaecologist, who delivered the babies.
