According to a report by The PUNCH, the national headquarters of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, on Thursday, dissolved the executives of the union at all levels across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
The PUNCH gathered that the decision of the union was not unconnected to the recent clashes between the members of the factions of the union.
NURTW National President, Tajudeen Baruwa, made the announcement in Abuja on Thursday.
The President said the union had initiated the process for immediate set up of a caretaker committee to be led by Olalekan Folorunsho, the South West Zone 2 Chairman, who will now oversee the affairs of the union across the state.
According to him, the NURTW constitutional provision in Article 42 Section 5, 6 and 7 as the basis for the decision, the move was aimed at ensuring proper reorganization of the entire structure of the union throughout the state.
