Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu has lashed out at former Nigerian military ruler, Yakubu Gowon.
This comes after a United Kingdom lawmaker said Gowon looted half of the Central Bank of Nigeria before running to the UK.
It all happened during deliberation on the petition on EndSARS by the UK Parliament following the accusations against the Nigerian Government and military officials in regards to the Lekki massacre. The member of the UK Parliament, Tom Tungendha accused the former Nigerian political and military leader of carting away with half of the money in the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Gowon who served as the head of state of Nigeria from 1966 to 1975 reportedly ran away to the UK with the stolen money in 1975.
Reacting to the claims, Aisha Yesufu slammed the head of state while pointing out that he is the worst of all Nigerian leaders who ate the food meant for the next generation.
Aisha Yesufu in a series of tweets, she said;
“GOWON IS THE WORST OF THEM ALL. GOWON IS ALWAYS WITH ANY GOVERNMENT IN POWER AND NEVER WITH THE PEOPLE. HIS SELF-PRESERVATION IS SECOND TO NONE. DUBAI LEADER WAS BUILDING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION WHILE GOWON WAS EATING THE FOOD FOR THE NEXT GENERATION.”
