Tragedy As Doctor Dies of Coronavirus In Kaduna

A doctor has been confirmed dead after testing positive for coronavirus in Kaduna state.

A medical doctor working with the Kaduna State Emergency Routine Immunisation Coordination Centre, Dr Clement Bakam, has died of coronavirus-related complications, according to a report by Punch.
 
Bakam, until his death, was the Programme Manager of KadSERICC, according to a statement on Wednesday, by the state Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr Abdulsalam Abdulrazak.
 
In the statement, the association condoled family and friends of the deceased.
 
“On behalf of the chairman, I regret to announce the sad demise of our brother and colleague Dr Clement Bakam following COVID-19 complications.

“Until his death, he was the Programme Manager, Kaduna State Emergency routine immunisation Coordination Centre.

“Our condolences go to his immediate family, friends, colleagues and Association of Resident Doctors, Kaduna. May God comfort us all,” the statement said.
 
The state has so far recorded no fewer than 2,163 cases of COVID-19.
