The minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, returned to the presidential villa on Thursday after recovering from COVID-19.
Onyeama attended a virtual extraordinary session of the ECOWAS authority of heads of states and government on the socio-political situation in Mali.
The minister had contracted the novel coronavirus on July 19 and announced his recovery on August 12.
“By the very special grace of God my latest #COVID19 test result came back NEGATIVE after three weeks isolation,” Onyeama had tweeted.
Onyeama, who is a member of the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, is the first minister in the Buhari administration to contract the disease.
President Muhammadu Buhari; Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF); Bashir Salihi Magashi, minister of defence and Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, director-general of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) were also in attendance.
