The lightning strike
Dramatic footage has shown lightning striking a house as the scorching UK heatwave comes to a wet and windy end.
Heavy rain and storms have started sweeping across the country today following record-breaking temperatures recently.
Donna Tizzard, from Wrexham, North Wales, was filming such a thunderstorm outside her house yesterday evening when the lightning strikes.
The footage begins with an overcast scene and rain droplets covering the window that Donna is looking out of.
Suddenly, a huge lightning bolt flashes in the sky, hitting a house in the distance.
“Oh my God,” someone behind the camera screams in terror. “What the f***?”
