Sympathisers crying over the death of Abiola Ajimobi
Sympathisers have thronged to the Oluyole residence of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Thursday crying and wailing following the sad news of his death.
Early callers, who stormed the Oluyole residence mostly include female party loyalists. They said they could not withstand the rumour but had to come around to confirm for themselves.
Governor Ajimobi who had been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, after slipping into a coma following Coronavirus complications, finally died on Thursday.
A source confirmed his death: “His organs collapsed about a week ago. It is just that the family didn’t want to unplug the life support. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
The former governor was rumoured to be dead last week but his aides and family members denounced the report asking Nigerians to rather pray for his recovery.
Ajimobi had once prayed to die at the age of 70.
