Church Members Flee As CAC Pastor Is Arrested for Holding Easter Service

A pastor who defied lockdown order by the government to hold Easter service has been made to face the music.

A Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), pastor in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State, was on Sunday arrested for flouting lockdown order placed by the state and the federal government to hold Easter Service.
 
The pastor, Jonathan Olowonisile, was arrested alongside his associate and two others.
 
According to Daily Post, there was drama at the church when worshippers at sighting police officers, fled the church leaving the pastor and some of his senior entourage to face the music. 
 
Abimbola Oyeyemi, who is the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest.
 
Oyeyemi said the pastor was nabbed for leading a congregation contrary to the ban on mass gathering.
 
“Our men arrested one Pastor Jonathan Olowonisile today, (Sunday) for contravening the order against high density gathering,” he said.
