Coronavirus: Kano Govt Reacts To Covid-19 Scare At Kano Airport

The government of Kano state has reacted to the coronavirus scare at the airport after a passenger vomited upon landing at the airport.

A suspected case of Coronavirus on Tuesday caused panic at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano state.

It was learnt that the patient flew to Kano with Air Peace airline but upon landing started vomiting.

This created fear at the airport as the pilot refused to let passengers out of the plane following the increasing cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

However, reacting, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the media aide to Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, said the suspect was not a case of Coronavirus but malaria.

On his Twitter page, Dawisu wrote: “This incident happened around 8am and was a case of a 1st time flier who also has malaria.

“A team of Centre for Disease Control,CDC experts examined him and preliminary results showed its not COVIDー19.

“The CDC will continue to monitor each and every situation in the State.”
