UPDATE: Abducted Benue Catholic Priest Regains Freedom

The Reverend father who was kidnapped in Benue has been released by his abductors.

The Victim, Rev. Fr. David Echioda

Rev. Fr. David Echioda, a priest of Catholic Diocese of Otukpo, who was abducted on March 1 in Ado Local Government Area of Benue state, has regained his freedom.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the development in Makurdi, said that the priest regained freedom on Tuesday night, adding that no ramson was paid for his release.

Recall Fr. Echioda, who is attached to Minor Seminary, Otukpo, was kidnapped along Alla - Akpa Road while returning from Sunday mass at Utonkon, Ado Local Government Area of the state.
