12 Shops Razed Down In Bauchi Market Fire

Authorities say properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the fire which has caused traders severe pains and economic losses.

A fire incident has destroyed 12 shops at the Wunti Market in Bauchi metropolis.

Speaking during a sympathy visit on Friday, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed expressed shock over the incident.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Senator Baba Tela assured the victims of immediate government’s support.

He said already, the State Emergency Management Agency has commenced an assessment of the damages in order to provide basic assistance.

Chairman of Wunti Market, Nura Zango expressed gratitude to the governor for pledging to support the victims.

DAILY POST gathered that no loss of lives were recorded as at the time of filing this report.
