According to a report by Daily Trust, two family members have been abducted in Tika, a commnity in Kuje Area Council.

They were kidnapped two days after the abduction of the Rubochi traditional ruler in the area council. Tika is about one kilometre from Rubochi.

Jarus Iliya and his sister, Mercy Iliya, like the traditional ruler, were abducted from their residence on Friday at midnight. The gunmen shot sporadically into the air before they broke into their house and whisked them away.

A source within the family said they had made contact with the victims, saying the kidnappers had earlier demanded N10 million as ransom.

“Negotiation is on-going because the last time they called, they said the family should pay N5 million but we are pleading with them to accept N500, 000,” the source said.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, did not pick calls put across to her phone, to confirm this development.
