Nigeria's survivor of the deadly Ebola Virus, Dr. Ada Igonoh gave birth to a baby girl in the United States on the 3rd of November 2015.

Her husband and proud father of the baby, Godwin Igonoh, shared his joy with Channels TV. He revealed that his wife enjoyed a smooth pregnancy thanks to the grace of God and the support of First Consultants Hospital in Lagos Island.

Dr. Benjamin Ohiari who is the Medical Director of First Consultants Hospital, revealed that getting pregnant after an ebola infection is very rare as the viral illness can affect fertility.

One of the reason the baby was born in the United States of America was to allow for proper monitoring by specialist health organizations.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the US Centre for Disease Control (CDC) monitored the birth and findings from Dr Ada’s case and it will be used to help future ebola survivors.
