The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has donated N10 million to the University of Ibadan (UI), Oyo State, for the construction of a new architecture department, according to a report by Guardian Nigeria.

Vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, disclosed this yesterday during the matriculation of 3,464 students, including 17 foreigners.

Olayinka said the number of architects in the Nigeria of about 190 million people was less than that of Berlin, Germany, with 3.575 million people.

He expressed optimism that the university would soon start producing her own architecture graduates who would not only design individual houses, but whose creativity, imagination and ideas would shape Ibadan and other cities.
