Ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt, Mikel Obi has disclosed that he is now ready to lead the Super Eagles again.
The ace footballer who featured last for the three-time African champions at last year’s World Cup and has missed the Eagles last seven games, made this disclosure at Asaba.
Mikel who disclosed that he is happy with the progress the team has made so far, disclosed that he fitted in seamlessly as he knows Super Eagles team and the coach and also ready to lead them again.
He said; “I’m really happy to be back in the team and I’m happy with the progress made so far. I fitted in seamlessly because it was not a problem for me as I have great understanding of the team and the coach very well.
"I needed rest because I was struggling with injuries but now I’m ready to lead the team again. The best team will win the AFCON and we are up for it as we are training twice a day.”
