A group rooting for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's election as President on the platform of the PDP in 2019, has said that they are ready to dump the party in the event their principal failed to secure the ticket and decided to leave the party.
Responding to questions from newsmen at a press conference in Abuja on Sunday, the National Coordinator of 'IamAtikulated2019' Ike Bishop Okoronkwo appealed to PDP governors, National Working Committee (NWC) and other critical stakeholders to give the ex-VP the ticket.
"We are protégés of Atiku. Wherever he goes, we will go. Whatever he ask us to do, we will do. We are campaigning for transformation of Nigeria’s economy and employment of youths.
"And having looked at the profiles of those currently aspiring to contest for President on the platform of PDP for 2019, we have identified Atiku as the only one with the character and content, political will and capacity required to bring the needed transformation that Nigerians are yearning for.
"The majority of the members of this platform, came from the various support groups that vigorously campaigned for General Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 general elections," he said.
