14-year-old Schoolboy Commits Suicide by Hanging After Being Expelled for N*de Pictures

A very young school boy who was expelled from his school after some p*rnographic images were discovered on his phone, has taken his own life by hanging himself with an electric cable.

A 14-year-old student identified as Steady Takunda Wazvaremaka, has died from injuries sustained following an attempted suicide after a confrontation with his mother.

According to a report by H-Metro, the deceased from the Chitungwiza area of Zimbabwe, died after being admitted at the hospital.

It was gathered that Takunda was initially saved from death by his mother after he was found hanging from an electric cable. He eventually succumbed to the injuries from the suicide.

While speaking to a correspondent, an eyewitness said that Takunda was expelled from a mission school over nude pictures that were discovered in his mobile phone.

“He was initially saved as he tried to commit suicide, but during the attempt, he sustained serious brain damage so it was going to be a miracle if he had survived. It’s unfortunate he could not stand being reprimanded by his mother, prompting him to attempt suicide.

"This boy was expelled from boarding school last year after he was found with nude pictures in his phone,” the source said.

Takunda’s father, who is still to come to terms with the death, refused to entertain a reporter's questions, saying the funeral was private.

“I am not comfortable speaking to the press at the moment and I feel it (funeral) is private,” said Mr. Wazvaremaka.

However, Takunda’s aunt-only identified as Mai Witness, said Takunda was admitted at Harare Central Hospital and Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals before he was referred back to Chitungwiza central hospital as they grappled to save his life.

“We tried everything to save him, but I want to believe time had already come for him to be with the Lord. Several doctors tried hard to save his life as he was shuttled between three referral hospitals, but all in vain."
