Football legend, Ronaldinho, has spoken up about who he thinks can replace Lionel Messi as the best player on the planet.

Barcelona legend Ronaldinho believes Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus can become the best player in the world.

City completed a £27million move for the 19-year-old last summer and the teenager hit the ground running at the Etihad when he arrived in January.

Jesus scored three goals in his first five appearances for City before sustaining a metatarsal injury and had even ousted Sergio Aguero from Guardiola’s starting line-up.

Barcelona ace Lionel Messi has won five of the last nine World Player of the Year awards but Ronaldinho believes Jesus is capable of stealing his crown in the future.

‘Manchester City have a very special player with Gabriel Jesus. Maybe even, in the future, the best player in the world,’ said Ronaldinho.

‘At the moment it is Messi. I have always said I think one day it will be Neymar. But at 19, in the future, it can be Gabriel. He has all the abilities to make that happen.’
