Big and Proud: Plus-size Woman Goes N*de to Celebrate Fat Women (Photos)

Posted by George on Thu 23rd Feb, 2017 - tori.ng

A coalition of voluptuous women across the world seem to be staging a protest against body-shaming, as they have began to expose their bodies on social media.

Black American plus-size model Simone Mariposa yesterday was trending across the Nigerian social media space after she shared an adult photo of herself on her Instagram page to celebrate fat women across the world.

Another white lady from England who bared in all in celebration of a similar course has been discovered. Chelsea who is based in Manchester, United Kingdom is known as Chessiebun.

According to her, she is 'unapologetically' fat and listens to no diet talks. She runs a blog where she showcases her body to inspire other fat women. She penned a very emotional piece attached to her picture as seen above. She claims she dropped out of the University due to depression and was lonely for a very long time over fears of being neglected or mocked by the opposite sex.

Chelsea who calls herself a 'mermaid' sells lingerie and other underwear. Her followership strength has grossed 18,000 on Instagram.

Read her touching story below:

"I discovered the body positive community when I was 19, I saw pictures of these beautiful fat women being fearless and unapologetic with their bodies and I wanted nothing more than to be like that... When I found the body positive community I was at one of my lowest points and it truly honestly saved me. I had dropped out of university due to depression, I started self harming again after years of recovery and my confidence was so low it affected every part of my life. I'd never been kissed, never been on a date, never been out dancing with my friends because I was so afraid someone would make fun of me. I had all of these ambitions and I constantly told myself I would pursue them but only after I lost weight and I truly believed that no one would ever love me because of the way my body looked.

So when I came across all of these women with bodies like mine being beautiful and strong and not being afraid to be seen, all of these lies I'd been told throughout my life and all of the lies I'd told myself were smashed into a million little pieces. Suddenly there was a new option, I didn't need to change myself, I could be happy and beautiful and loved just the way I was.

5 years later and here I am. Finding self acceptance and self love isn't an easy journey but it's the most worth while thing I've ever done. I have come so far and I couldn't have done it without the body positive community and all of the amazing people within it that will never truly know how much they had an affect on my life. It might seem small to some people to dare to be seen in this world as a fat person and not apologize for your body but it was massive to me. Please never stop because it is so important."
