Some residents of Makurdi have put their lives in danger by rushing to scoop fuel from a fallen petrol tanker.

In what has been described as a dangerous game, residents of Makurdi trooped out en mass to scoop fuel from a Petrol tanker that fell along Gorge Akume way in Benue state.
Narrating the incident, Ben Dzwa wrote:
"G-O S-L-O-W
"Motorists accessing the Gorge Akume way (Makurdi Int'l Market road) from the New Otokpo road are advised to be cautious.
Few minutes ago, a Fuel Tanker that negotiated the bend lost balance and has fallen by the side.
"Some youth with cans are running to get a share of the dripping liquid from the tanker. This is seen as high-risk point but the boys seemed unconcerned.
"Only one traffic warden was seen at the scene of the incident. Be cautious!"
Many have been warned to stay away from the fallen tanker as any mistake might see them burn alive.
