A man has left many people in shock after he brutally murdered his wife for merely speaking to another man at a club.

Robert Bance murdered his wife

A man who stabbed his wife to death in a jealous rage has been jailed for life, Metro reports.

It was gathered that Robert Bance, 53, knifed Victoria Bance, 37, more than 20 times after he accused her of speaking to another man on a night out.

The incident happened after the woman stormed out of a club in Plymouth on October 8 following an argument with her husband and was heard saying in the back of a taxi, ‘he’s going to kill me’.

When Mrs Bance returned home to Leigham she continued the quarrel with Bance.

He eventually launched a ‘frenzied attack’ on the mother-of-three, stabbing her 16 times in the chest with a 17cm military style knife that belonged to his father.

He then immediately called police to confess. Plymouth Crown Court was played the emergency call in which he was heard saying: ‘Hello, I just killed my wife.

‘I just killed her. I just killed her. Oh my god. She is dead.’

Mrs Bance was rushed to hospital but died on October 9.

She had 23 wounds in total, with 14 deeply penetrating her heart and both of her lungs.

Mrs Bance had previously called police during the night she was killed and was heard screaming, but when emergency services called her back her husband answered.

Bance pleaded guilty to murder and was given life imprisonment with a minimum tariff of 15 years.
Victoria’s son Liam, 19, told the court: ‘Rob was always pretty much jealous whenever she spoke to anyone who was not us.

‘It was as if he wanted her for himself.’

Bance, who had eight children, acted as a carer for his wife who had been bed-bound following an unsuccessful operation.

Police had been called to their home before because of arguments they had.
