Nnamdi Kanu was arrested by operatives of the State Security Services (SSS) on Wednesday, October 14 in Lagos on his arrival to Nigeria from the United Kingdom. He was earlier charged for criminal intimidation of the Nigeria government among others at a Magistrate Court in Abuja.

The court later discharged and struck out all cases against kanu after the SSS applied for the discontinuation of the case for lack of jurisdiction by the Magistrate Court to entertain the matter.

Also on Thursday, December 17, the Federal High Court presided over by Ademola Adeniyi ordered an immediate and unconditional release of the accused.
