Drama in Kogi as 'Prayer Man' Tries to Revive Abubakar Audu

Posted by George on Mon 23rd Nov, 2015 - tori.ng

There was a mild drama in Kogi state while the late Abubakar Audu was being prepared for burial as strong religious people opted for spiritual means to enforce his resurrection from death.

Abubakar Audu

The news of the death of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate, Abubakar Audu shook the social media with yesterday with my doubting earlier reports until it was finally confirmed.

Following the demands of the Islamic religion in relation to the burial of the dead, Mr. Audu’s burial was initially fixed for 10am (today) Monday, a situation which made friends and relatives to besiege his palatial home early in the day.

The mood of the wailing crowd was almost lightened up as a spiritualist came forward to pray on his corpse at a private room for a possible resurrection from death.

According to Premium Times, the family members initially objected to granting the cleric his request as the security operatives barricaded the entrance into the room where the lifeless body of Audu was laid but following intense pressure from his weeping supporters outside, the wish was consented to.

The prayer man went in and Islamic chants like "Allahu Akbar" was heard followed by Christians shouting "Holy Ghost fire'' but all to no avail.

Dino Melaye and some family members came out through the back door to calm the angry crowd.

While some were largely engaged in fervent prayers others were weeping loudly by the door.

‎As men and women of faith engaged in fervent prayers to bring Audu back to life, others faced the reality and were seen digging his grave in one end of the compound.

The late former governor was finally buried at 2pm amidst tears from his family members, friends, supporters and well wishers.
